Wild Kingdom on Wheels

Don’t have time (or funds) to take the kids on safari? Mutual of
Omaha’s Wild Kingdom is set to embark on a fall Adventure Tour
beginning Labor Day Weekend.

The free “state-of-the-art travel experience” will showcase three distinct habitats: tropical rainforest, African
savannah and a polar region, complete with hands-on displays, a theater showing the current
Animal Planet series, and a tribute to the original Wild Kingdom
show that first aired over forty years ago.

Video clips of the original series with Marlin
Perkins, Peter Gros and Jim Fowler can be viewed on the tour’s website. There is also a helpful
history of this groundbreaking television show, for those
who may not remember it. Be sure to watch the one where Perkins wrestles with an anaconda in South America.

The tour will travel to festivals in at least six states, starting with the Chrysler Arts, Beats and Eats Festival in
Pontiac, Michigan on September 2. A full schedule can be found
here.
