Bid for a Taxi?

Here’s a pretty neat
concept
, apparently at work this very moment in Singapore where the wireless world meets the rough and dirty world
of taxi cabs. According to
this blog, taxi drivers
can bid for rides from passengers. They get a notification from a rider in need on an electronic receiver (cellphone?)
and then they fire back to the rider the price they are willing to accept to provide a ride. One assumes that several
drivers are doing this…and then the lowest bid goes to the rider.  I suppose this would help solve serious supply
and demand issues like when it rains or snows.
