Monterey Jazz Festival Starts Tomorrow

Just a heads up about an event we posted about a while
back: The 48th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival kicks off tomorrow in
gorgeous Monterey, California, also the site of some fine California scuba diving. So grab your mask and snorkel, and a
bottle of vino, and head down 101 to check it out.

Branford Marsalis, Tony Bennett, Carla Bley, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny  are just a few of the 500 performers
who will take the stage in what is said to be the oldest continuously operated jazz festival in the United States. It’s
a big deal for jazz fans. Since it started in 1958, the festival has welcomed jazz giants like Miles Davis, Dizzy
Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holliday, Charles Mingus, and the Modern Jazz Quartet.
