How about a slightly less conventional Oktoberfest celebration? The Chinese city of
Kunshan (located not far from Shanghai) is celebrating its first
annual International Beer Festival, going on now through
September 25 at the Kunshan Stadium.
Shanghaiist reports that there is
plenty of brau on hand, but with no tasty authentic German cuisine to coat the stomach, the festival provided only
hunger pains and hangovers. I’d like to get a report on the festivities from the ten German guys from the Bavarian band
Musikkapelle Fischbachau who flew over to perform.
I’m sure they’d have some interesting observations as well.
