In case you didn’t have enough to read already…The Society of
American Travel Writers is holding their annual meeting in Vegas this week, and the
winners of their Lowell Thomas Awards for Published Work were
just announced. Three awards were granted in each of 27 categories.
Tom Haines of the Boston Globe (who Erik has
lauded several times), received the Grand Award. There are
tons of great pieces published in newspapers and magazines over the past year, as well as notable travel book and
travel guide awardees. I thought I’d just quickly mention the internet publications/website category winners:
Wild Writing Women,
NewYorkology (Amy’s Langfield’s excellent resource, which I read daily) and
CrusieCritic. Congrats to all the winners!
