I’m tying up things here in Armenia and will soon be heading home. What a fine trip it has been. Here is
a photo I took at the
Haghpat Monastery in the Lori regioon of Armenia. These
cross carvings are very unusual, and to my knowledge, cross stones of this complexity occur only in Armenia and in
Ireland. You see them all over the place here…along the road, at monasteries, in open spaces.
Some of them are amazingly intricate and lovely. Like these ones.
