High on my list of travel writing to read is that of Mark Twain. Besides the Huck Finn & Tom Sawyer classics,
Twain wrote several popular books about his travels around the world. And his tales are
making a comeback this fall, with two new releases of his
previously written stories and commentaries on travel.
Already released is the National Geographic Adventure Classic reissue of
Following the Equator,
Twain’s account of his 1895 round-the-world lecture tour journey.
And coming
next month is a compilation from Lyons Press,
Mark Twain on Travel, which includes excerpts from “Life on the Mississippi,” “Roughing It,” “Following the
Equator,” “Innocents Abroad” and “A Tramp Abroad.”
