Botswana WildCam

A few friends of mine have been raving about National Geographic’s
Africa WildCam project.

The camera is set up to
showcase the amazing wildlife
that is now thriving in the Matashu Game Reserve, an area that was once overrun by poachers. Two men, Pete Le Roux and
David Evans, are behind conservation efforts to create a new park, the Limpopo/Shashe Transfrontier Conservation Area,
that would protect about 338,000 acres for African wildlife to roam safely in an expanded plot of land.

Of course, when I tried to check out the live feed of Pete’s Pond, the camera was not working, but I took a look at
some of the cool videos
instead. I’ll be checking in again to see when it gets going, I’m sure it will (check out this
tech talk about how the webcam was
set up). The camera and blog have attracted quite a
safari lovin’ following.
