Beer Travel

The movie Sideways inspired legions of wine swillers to head into California’s wine country to quaff and sip their
favorite vinos, with a particular focus on the delights of the Pinot grape. But what if you’re partial to suds over
wine?

Well apparently there is a nascent travel culture rowing up around beer, too, as
this article in
the Globe and Mail
points out. Part of the buzz (ha!) that’s been generated comes from
American Beer, a recent, um bock-umentary that took
on the vast and popular microbrew culture. Based in Canada, the paper covers mostly Canadian breweries like the
Propeller Brewing Company in Halifax and the Unibroue brewery outside of Montreal. Beer fans will be glad to know that
their favorite beverage is getting some attention in what has seemed to be a wine-focused world.
