If you’re into architecture, then you’ll be psyched to know that a new exhibit called
“Santiago Calatrava: Sculpture into Architecture,” is opening right now at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibit will run through March 5,
2006.
Santiago Calatrava’s bridges and buildings are scattered across the globe, appeearing in various cities
like Athens, Milwaukee, Buenos Aires and Bilbao. His work has been celebrated for being ethereal, uplifting,
almost structures of fantasy. The Spanish-born Calatrava made a major contribution to the new World Trade
Center’s Path Terminal transit hub, which is one of the few things about the site that hasn’t been quite so
controversial. Anyway, the exhibit at the Met should be a pleasure to fans and newbies alike. The
exhibit will run through March 5, 2006.
