New York Changing

I know our New York day is over, but I just had to mention this great rephotography collection by Douglas Levere,
featured on The Morning News today.

New York Changing features
Levere’s reshots of Berenice Abbott’s 1930s pictures of New York City— 70 years later, he snapped from the same
location. Here’s the photo
gallery
.

You can see more photos here and learn about the project,
the photographer and the book here. I loved the “Tempo of
the City” and “A. Zito Bakery” photo pairs the best. (Looks like
Gridskipper did too.) The book
has been out for awhile now, but this is the first I heard of it…might have to consider it as a holiday gift for
someone.
