WWII Pilot Found in CA Glacier

Here’s something you don’t read everyday. Two
glacier hikers in California (there are glaciers in California?) were cruising along, enjoying the fresh air, the snap,
crackle and pop of breaking ice when they
stumble upon a body. But the body is not
of some dead climber from last year’s climbing season. The dead body is that of an American airman who crashed his
plane there in 1942 (cue Close Encounters theme). The climbers were at 13,000 feet, hiking in Mount Mendel Glacier in
the Kings Canyon National Park where, yes, apparently there IS a glacier. And now that the body has been discovered,
the military is trying to figure out who the guy was.
