I’m guessing that most gadling readers are the types who head out with a swollen backpack and
for whom “dining well” means dropping about $20 for a meal. Backpackers and frugal tourists will have little interest,
other than vicarious interest, in
this list of the World’s Most Expensive Restaurants. In the article, I read that estimates are that the
international restaurant industry generates between $1.5 and $2 trillion in sales a year. Wha? I guess that makes
sense. Folks gotsta eat. But wow, some number. Anyway, the list starts with Aragawa, in Tokyo,
that serves hand-fed Kobe beef that will set you back a mere $277 per plate.
