Apple Geek Cruise

Most of us picture a ocean cruise as an opportunity to get away from the trappings of our daily lives. You stand at
the rail, gape at the blue expanse of ocean, and hardly a synapse fires about your work back home, let alone your
computer. And then there are others.

For them (and I confess I probably fit into this category) a trip on the high seas might be an excellent opportunity
to improve your Photoshop skills, or to mingle with the Macnorati. Here is just such an opportunity.

Jan Kabili over at TUAW talks about the Mac Mania
IV cruise
, taking place in February 2006 and co-hosted by MacWorld. Not only can you take classes on board on
Photoshop or digital photography, but you can also hang out and sip Mai Tais with Steve (the Woz) Wozniak. Ask him
where the Mac boot up sound came from, or why they called the company Apple (hint: not after Gwenyth’s
baby).

The cruise leaves from San Diego and stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  You can
catch a glimpse of the Geek Cruise and all the knee-whacking hiijinx by watching this
video. Ahh, geeks.
