When it gets cold and frosty in New York City, it’s time to head to the museum, and right now there’s a great
exhibit showing at the Met. If you’re into architecture, then you’ve probably
heard of Santiago Calatrava, whose work can be seen around the world in the form of bridges and buildings. He’s done
work everywhere from Athens and Milwaukee, to Buenos Aires and Bilbao.
His work is ethereal, dreamlike, and often is compared to birds in flight with structures reaching towards the
heavens. The exhibit at the Met is called
“Santiago
Calatrava: Sculpture Into Architecture,” and covers many of his finest works. The exhibit
was reviewed recently in the Times, which is
worth a read. It’s a positive review, and should help you add a visit to the newly remodeled museum to any upcoming
trip to the Big Apple.
