The mPack 600

Have you already gotten your hands on a video iPod? Not me. I’ll wait for the next generation before I make the
leap. But I have to say it would be very cool to own a portable video player. And the problem with the video iPod is
that the screen really is too small for you to enjoy a movie or TV show with someone else. To do so, you better hope
you’re good friends with the person watching with you, because your heads will be very close together and the two of
you watching will look like a tender Hallmark moment to your fellow travelers.

So why not consider another option. I just caught this on sister site engadget and thought it looked pretty cool.
Whiile not released yet (it some out November 12th in Japan) the
mPack P600 by Power Quotient International is a portable
media player that features an integrated 20GB hard drive and 4-inch widescreen LCD. The fully charged battery lasts
about 4 hours, enough for, say two films or four episodes of 24 (my cuurrent TV addiction). The device is versatile,
and supports a wide range of file types including MP3, WMA, AC3, M4A, WAV, Ogg Vorbis audio files, MPEG-1/2/4, DivX,
XviD, and AVI video files. But wait, there’s more. It also can decode video streams at 480i, 576i, 720p, and 1080i, so
you can get high-def content right there in your hands. Pertty sweet.
