NYC Marathon: Five Ways to See It

As I was sorting out logistics for a trip to Manhattan later this week, I realized that I
was going to be in close proximity to a good viewing spot for this Sunday’s NYC Marathon. And then I learned that a
good college friend of mine will be running it. So now I’ve got me a nice excuse to hang out near Central Park on
Sunday, enjoy the festivities and cheer my pal along.

The ING New York City Marathon website has a host of great
resources for learning more about the event and route, as well as
daily tips for the runners. But the best is this great
spectator guide highlighting Five Ways to Watch the Race.
There are separate strategies for how to see the professional
leaders
and family/friends run the race. Plus,
suggestions on how to enjoy the entertainment,
landmarks and
shopping along the route. Should be a great day. I’m
hoping to catch some of the live music, and will be supporting the runners as they enter the park near the 24th mile
mark. I just hope the weather cooperates!
