I’ve recently started loading my Bloglines account with blogs from
European cities I’ll be visiting next year, including Prague. I find that reading these local perspectives by expats or
English speaking Europeans is an extremely useful way to get the vibe of a place before arriving. A blog is certainly
only one person’s opinion on life in a city, but it has an advantage over guidebooks since its updated in real-time.
Here are a few Prague blogs that I recommend checking out if you want to learn more about life in the region from folks
living there right now:
David Eyerman is currently teaching English in Prague. He moved there in September 2005, and has been posting photos
and writing about his first impressions of the city and country, like this one which shares his perspective on
things Czechs like.
Jeremy moved to the Czech Republic in 1992. His website, although not in traditional blog format, is full of photos
and tips about Prague and other parts of the Czech Republic. He most recently visited Cesky Krumlov in
October 2005.
This blog is part of Prague Spot, an online guide to finding accommodation the city. The content
manager, Patrick Seguin, occasionally posts about his adventures in Prague, where he has lived for seven years. The
archive has lots of good info about all sorts of things to do and see in and around Prague.
This collection of tales from around Prague is part of a larger site called Stumpy Moose, a collaboration of several
friends from the UK. One of them, Sam Beckwith, lives in Prague and writes periodic entries from live around bohemia.
