Two interesting points in
this article from CBC news. 1) that it appears a wolf
attacked and killed a man in northern Saskatchewan earlier this week. 2) that this is likely the first time in 100
years that such a wolf-eats-man scenario took place. The attack occurred in northern Saskatchewan earlier this week
when the body of the 22-year-old was found and an autopsy showed he was likely killed by a wolf…or wolves.
For some reason, I would have guessed that wolf attacks and deaths were far more common, but maybe that’s because I am
immediately reminded of Prokofiev’s Peter and the
Wolf and the ominous wolf music from that piece (da da da da da dum da da da dum dum). Wolves are generally quite
shy around humans, and so this is rather puzzling. I’ll be curious to see whether the guy died first and was torn up by
wolves later.
