Budget Travel Balancing Act

Did it seem like my head was in the clouds today? It felt like it.
I did an awful lot of personal travel talk here today, wondering about topics that I often see discussed on the travel
boards and blogs. The pros & cons of planning and the
joys of living in the here and now before embarking on a
journey, are just two of the issues that get talked about a lot by budget travelers, especially soon-to-be vagabonders
who are in serious pre-trip mode. (A third is the challenge of spending vs. slimming down, which I’ve
mentioned previously.) Many folks gearing up for
adventures are mulling over these travel topics. I specifically noticed that Lee LeFever at
TwinF elaborated on some of these very same issues in his
minimize/maximize post last week
and yesterday’s
planning post.
It’s comforting to read about other travelers who are contemplating similar aspects of the pre-departure phase of an
extended trip. And nice to know I’m not the only one trying to balance the wanderlust daydreams with the practical
tasks that must be tended too. Today was spent aimlessly floating around these topics, but tomorrow’s posts should find
me firmly planted back on solid ground.
