Kelly mentioned this before, but I have to say I was fascinated when I did a search on Google
myself and got travel results.
As she pointed out, it seems the search behemoth has teamed up with some travel heavyweights like Priceline and
Orbitz, to offer actual flight information as part of their results. I’m trying to get my head around why they are
doing it this way, as opposed to having a travel link somewhere…which they will probably do at some point.
But here’s what I did: I just typed “Los Angeles” and “New York” into the search field, and got results for
flights between the two cities. Just enter the dates and it will kick back results from the partners. Pretty slick.
Very googlian: basic, text driven, quick results.
It will be very interesting to see where this goes.
