You should check out the New York Times piece
this weekend about taking time off. I’ve complained so often about the lack of vacation we get as Americans that I
feel like a preacher. But it is a solid fact that we get the least vacation in the civilized…well, developed…world. Why
is this so? Work work work…that is the American ethic. But as we get more successful, more wealthy, we really ought to
think hard about how to get to and enjoy life more. And how to better understand the world by visiting it every once in
a while.
