Destination December: Head to Bethlehem?

Perhaps this destination is far too obvious for some, but Bethlehem has long been the ancient land
and birthplace of some very notable people. (Think King David and Jesus
of Nazareth.) It is by far one of the most religious sites in the world sacred to Christians, Islam and
Jews.  Aside from being the holy center for many, the area is also known for olive trees, vineyards, and
several tiny historical villages.

Traveler’s Hub does a fine job
highlighting some of the major attractions in addition other pieces of vital information while traveling in the region.
Their top picks include the Basilica of Nativity, Grotto of Nativity, Rachel’s Tomb, and the Milk Grotto. In recent
years these areas have been packed with tourists during the holiday, yet last year
reports showed a huge decrease in tourism due to the on-going tensions between Israel and Palestine in the West Bank.
This may very well be the case for travel this year, so you’ll want to check well in advance before heading out
to not so cheery territory.

Aside from Traveler’s Hub here are some other sites that may help in planning travel to Bethlehem this December or
months after.
