Destination December: Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

Alas, Destination December has come and before I jump into some really awesome places and
best ways to get more bang out of your holiday
bucks, I welcome you all to share your holiday experiences, past or present at any of the destinations mentioned.
So with that being said here is my first pick:
Rockefeller Center Christmas
Tree
.

What better way to start your holiday travels than in the NYC? If you haven’t made arrangements to make it to the
73rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Ice Show scheduled today at 9:00 PM, you can still make plans to see the tree
throughout the season until January 6, 2006. Each year thousands of people will gather to see the lighting of the tree
while other slice the ice in the rink. Stars will light the sky and the stage with performances by Rod Stewart,
Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Brian Wilson and Earth, Wind, and Fire to name a few. The show will be a fundraiser for
“Toys for Tots” to help children effected by the hurricane to have an enjoyable Christmas after all. You can keep tabs
on the tree at NewYorkLed.

Can’t make it this year? The event will be televised
today on NBC
. Check your local cable guide for air time.
