Atlantic v. Pacific

So I was out all day yesterday way down on the Jersey Shore on a project…and I have to say, the
place is growing on me. The Jersey shore, that is. It’s a decent break from the city, and you can kick back on the sand
and hear the delicate purr of waves. BUT! Let me step forward and make a point that others here might immediately
dispute. The United States Pacific beats the Atlantic.

Yes, I am sorry. This is a statistical fact. And an aesthetic one, too. I have been up and down the East and West
Coast of this country. I’ve seen Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, Mass, New Jersey, California, Oregon and
Washington. Pacific beaches rule hands down. They are prettier, more clean, they have better waves and the sand is just
plain better. And let’s face it, no other place matches the beaches of So Cal. Newport, Manhattan, Huntington,
Laguna…name a place on the Atlantic side with beaches as good as these four?

So, I am sorry. I just had to get this off my chest. A return from the Jersey Shore yesterday where everyone was
telling me that it’s paradise prompted the rant. Yes, the Jersey Shore is fine. But it ain’t no California.

Olsen Out.
