The LA Times and Jane Engle has a very useful
podcast today that talks about whether or not you should buy insurance when you rent a car. This is always one of
those things that you ponder when you’re standing there at the counter and wonder whether the extra $20 a day or so are
worth it. Maybe not, suggests the piece.
The podcast discusses what may happen if you’re rental car is stolen, and/or personal stuff inside it is ripped off.
It’s nice to know you MAY be covered by your homeowners insurance. Look at your policy to find out…do it now, before
you forget.
But, as the piece here recommends, it is always a good idea not only to take pictures of your rental before and after
you rent, it, but check and keep all your documentation.
