You don’t find one of these very often in US media: a
guide to the Indian Ocean by the Independent tells
you everything you need to know about the region and what to do there, including diving, diving, where to do your
honeymoon, where to stay and on and on. A very helpful resource.
As you’ll read, the Indian Ocean is one of those places on the globe that is vast and variegated, but we I think
know little about it. For example, were you aware that the Indian Ocean is nearly 6,000 miles wide where it spans the
southern tips of Africa and Australia? That is one-quarter of the earth’s circumference. And the area it covers is some
eight times the size of the US, accounting for one-fifth of the Earth’s water surface. Breath-taking, really. And so
much to see and do.
