This one slipped through the cracks…not sure how I missed it. A study of
the country’s most literate
cities placed Seattle at the top. Now, to be honest, this is no surprise to me. Why, everyone I know in Seattle can
read. I mean, it’s just something you do. It’s cold and rainy and the sun isn’t out very often, so you tend to sit at
home and read a book. Oh sure, some people watch the television or go to a movie, but those things have words in them,
too. I mean, all those names and titles that go by on the screen. What do you think they’re put there for? To read, of
course. Well, enough of my jabbering. Yes, Seattle is the US’ most literate city, but I suppose the next question must
be: who’s next? Well, here’s the full list:
1. Seattle
2. Minneapolis
3. Washington, D.C.
4. Atlanta
5. San Francisco
6. Denver
7. Boston
8. Pittsburgh
9. Cincinnati
10. St. Paul
