The December issue of the online magazine
Go World Travel arrived in my inbox the other day with
some excellent seasonal readings to choose from. Two articles I especially enjoyed were Amanda Kendle’s
Australian
in Lapland tale (because it’s always fun to hear about Aussies frolicking in the snow) and Susan Van Allen’s
story of
La
Befana (because I too, being of Italian heritage, know of the woman with the hairy mole who rides a
broomstick.) There is also a story about spending New Year’s Eve at a Peruvian shepherd’s compound, and a
guide to creative alternative gift ideas, like a donation to the World Wildlife Fund or AdoptaPlatoon. The full
table
of contents gives a rundown of all the Go World Travel monthly features and ongoing department coverage as
well. You’ll find an excellent roundup of travel writing for the holidays, and a great source of travel stories
all year round.
