Since Erik pointed out the
mag that points out the best places to get your groove on, ‘do it’, romp around or make LOVE I
figured I’d make mention of a subtler rendezvous amongst strangers and friends.
Ladies, think of all the times you went to a bar and caught the attention of a handsome man down on the other end. He
walks over making a sincere attempt to strike up a decent conversation, but with the all commotion around (loud
music, cell phones ringing, drunk laughter) the first words from his mouth are accompanied with a small spray
of saliva. Ick.

The Quiet Party eliminates all of
this. Their silent revolution has been happening in a couple of cities, most notably NYC, San Fran, D.C., Houston and
even Beijing. Instead of shouting at one another attendees sit in a room stocked with paper and pencils and exchange
mischievous, silly notes as well as giggles. Silent ones of course. I picture this being the sophisticated
single’s scene with a little under the table leg rubbing. Or is that not allowed?
For the next party you can either head to San Francisco or host one in your own city. The San Fran party takes
place on Thursday, January 12 at the Canvas Gallery. Founders of the Quiet Party, Paul Rebhan and Tony Noe
provide an excellent guide to hosting your own.
