Murder in the Air

Here’s a news bit I thought was quite interesting. Some 15 months after his death, an Indonesian activist makes the news. How so? Well according to this piece on Reuters
UK
, the country’s top human rights activist was murdered during a flight on the national carrier Garuda. Apparently
his death came by was of an unsuspecting noodle dish laced with arsenic. It is only most recent that Indonesian courts
jailed an off-duty Garuda pilot over the murder. The suspect, Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto claims he is the victim of
a conspiracy and innocent. Priyanto was supervising security on the Jakarta-Singapore leg of a flight to Amsterdam and
the activist, Munir died before reaching Amsterdam. I’ll be curious to know what comes from this one. In the meantime
it makes one wonder if not having the in-flight meal is a good thing.
