Traveling Travolta

Here’s a random interior design tidbit I came across this weekend. A new book called Hollywood at Home has
photos of airplane junkie John Travolta’s home, including shots of the airport mural that decorates his living
room wall. This coordinates well with the $6 million runway out back that he and wife Kelly Preston use in their
fly-in” neighborhood in Florida. (A few other luxury plane-fanatics use it as
well.) The couple owns a home at Jumbolair Aviation Estates (previously mentioned by Luxist), that is also home to an inn
and country club. The photos included in the new book originally appeared in this April 2004 issue of Architectural Digest. According
to Wikipedia and other Travolta bios/articles, the
Scientologist movie star is
a pilot and owner of at least five airplanes, including a former Qantas Boeing 707.
He also wrote and illustrated a short fable entitled “Propeller One-Way Night Coach” about the fictional
journey of an 8 year old boy across the USA in the 1950s.
