Extreme Cuisine

One wonders if there is a way to just go out and eat anymore…I mean, just in a regular way. A regular meal.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Good meals can be had everywhere, but more and more you’re seeing restaurants go the gimmicky
route, making odd foods like bugs or, as this
article in the USA Today
travel section points out, edible menus.

Yes, a restaurant in Chicago
called Moto by Homaro Cantu offers
the opportunity to order from your menu, and the to gobble it up. Apparently it is made of parmesan-flavored rice paper
and is imprinted with edible soy ink. The menu is framed by puffed rice and freeze-dried shallots and tastes, well, a
bit like risotto. At another restaurant in LA, Ludovic Lefebvre of Bastide throws in a handful of Pop Rocks to mix into
a strawberry-gummy-bear soup…gummy bear soup? The list goes on. Take a read.

Odd stuff for the odd palate.
