One for the Road (01/09/06)

Since
Spain is on the brain this morning, I’ll mention a book that I’d really like to read before or during my trip. Chris
Stewart’s Driving Over Lemons sounds like a refreshing upbeat memoir.
This travel narrative was a British bestseller when it was released about five years ago. Stewart chronicles the
adventure that he and his wife Ana embark on when they quit their jobs and move to an isolated rundown farmhouse in
Andalucia, in the mountains outside of Granada. With optimistic wit and humor, the former Genesis band member shares
this light-hearted tale about how (despite countless adversities) he and his wife eventually plant roots, make friends
with the neighbors and establish a home among the olive, almond and lemon groves of this pleasant region in southern
Spain.
