I decided to mention one of the latest releases
by Rough Guides for today’s book of the day, since I don’t think I’ve featured this fine guide book publisher yet. The Rough Guide to Bali and Lombok features 52
maps and a full-color 24 page introduction. I’ve seen these color intros in some of their other guidebooks and although
not necessary, they really do inspire and psych up travelers who may be dreading the all-important planning required to
ensure a successful trip. What follows the photos are dozens of helpful tips and practical advice to make your trip to
these two Indonesian islands a wonderful adventure. Rough Guides includes details on accommodation and dining options,
as well as providing info on historic Hindu temple sites and the best beaches for diving and surfing. This book was
published in November 2005, so it contains up-to-date data that should be helpful to anyone planning a trip in the
coming year.
