Score: The Best Adventure Travel Gigs

Honestly, I can’t
think of a time where I actually desired full-time employment as wandering travel writer, exploring tour guide, or
luxury hotel inspector. Okay, I lie – a little. Don’t get me wrong, I love to jet off across the world which is why I’m
here at Gadling and perhaps I’ve applied for an opening at Intrepid on a whim in the past, but it’s never been a DREAM
job of mine. Overall I enjoy jobs that allow me the option to travel, but aren’t necessarily in travel related
industries. Some of you are quite opposite. You long to hostel hop, cover foreign roads from top to bottom and report
your findings in well-known publications. Looking at this story and photo gallery in USA Today on the five top adventure travel jobs will supply
some insight on how to land these gigs. In addition to all the perks folks like Don George, Trent Walsh, and Nancy Jane
Earnhardt also share drawbacks to a journeying job. While you’re up in the air or out to sea, sustaining relationships
with people and house plants can be difficult. Poor house plants, but guiding an Amazon trek is too awesome to pass.
