Relief Riders International

A
team of 15 riders on galloping horses will spend 15 days traveling through 5 remote villages in rural Rajasthan
starting February 11, 2006. Their mission is neither new or the full pleasure of experiencing some of India’s natural
beauty on horseback which will happen naturally, but for the most part they travel with a purpose. Relief Riders International is a humanitarian-based,
adventure travel company that organizes horseback journeys through developing countries around the globe. On their
two-week tour duties will vary with each stop in the villages. They will set-up medical camps, work with local
Red-Cross teams, distribute educational materials to local schools, and even help to give goats to families in need.

A trip like this isn’t for everyone. Urban and rural India can be difficult for most people in the first
few days, but should you be able to rough it the ride should prove rewarding. Cost for an adventure like this is about
$5,400 and doesn’t include airfare. Trips book fast so it’s best to think far in advance. Not within your sight? You
can still help with the relief efforts by donating $55 to the fight against blindness. About 20,000 people in
Rajasthan live without sight and the contribution will go towards the an IOL surgery to help someone see.
