A cool heads up from Jen Leo over at Written Road: the good folks at 826
Valencia, the writing center that helps young scribes find their voice, will be holding a travel writing seminar
with a couple of big names. The seminar will discuss the process of writing and publishing for the
travel genre. And more than that, they will talk about the publishing aspects of writing, such as contacting agents and
working with publishing houses.

Now, you may not have heard of 826 Valencia, but they are wonderful. I’ve
visited its sister organization in Brooklyn, 826NYC, which also happens to be the
location of the Superhero Supply Store, a quirky, but fun place to hang out listen to readings, whatever.
Anyway, back to SF. Seems this event is being moderated by John Flinn (SF Chron), Larry Habegger (Travelers Tales),
Amanda Jones, and Elaine Lee. It takes place Sunday, March
12th, at 826 Valencia St. SF, CA 94110. Call 415.642.5905 for more info. Sounds like a great place to pick up some
tips if you’re in the neighborhood.
