Ever
since a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court saved himself from being burned at the stake by predicting a
solar eclipse, I’ve always wanted to experience it myself—an eclipse that is, not being burned at the
stake.
Well, once again I have the opportunity, but once again I’m not going to be able to make it. But you
can. Erik has already posted about the next, and
perhaps best, solar eclipse to hit our planet for a very long time that is happening at the end of this month on March
29. The eclipse will pass through western Africa, northern Africa, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia.
And there is still time to catch it.
This is such a rare occurrence, and promises to be such perfect conditions (so few clouds in northern Africa) that
we here at Gadling just wanted to remind you once more that you should go. Really. Check out this recent LA Times article for a brief description of what
to expect, and more importantly, a healthy list of tour operators who can get you there.
