More Spring Break Travel Trends

Turns out MTV’s Alternative Spring Break I blogged
about a month back wasn’t some crazy fluke in the cosmos, but college students have actually started putting down the
brews for brooms or other handy items. The Columbus
Dispatch
who also had their eye on the pop-culture television network notes some 1,000 plus students sought after
the 100 available spots on MTV and the United Way’s team to help clean up the hurricane damaged South. Pretty
impressive and students aren’t just seeking opportunities because MTV’s attached to it, but because they truly want to
do something memorable and productive.

Another noteworthy number in the service arena is the 10,400 young
folks nationwide who will be building homes as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge. Of other
trends spotted the article also says travel agents near Ohio universities have even noticed parent planned spring break
trips that include their college-aged children. Yup, believe it or not riding the wave on mom and dad’s dollar is the
only way some students are seeing places like St. Kitts in the Caribbean.
