LoJack for Kids

Wow.  This short
video
from CNN.com is every kid’s worst nightmare.  Just imagine your parents being able to
electronically track your every move 24/7 like some tagged deer tranquilized and then released back into the
wild.  Yes, LoJack for kids has finally arrived.  Parents can sign on to the internet and pull up a real time
map of their kid’s movements via the GPS in their cell phones, or for younger children without a cell phone,
parents can adorn their child with a bulky transponder "wristag."  Ear tags with big numbers on them and radio
transmitter collars are not yet on the market.

I suppose in today’s increasingly dangerous world, such devices certainly have their practical aspects.
They can also be helpful in strange cities while traveling, in case little Johnny takes a wrong turn on his way back to
the hotel.  As for daily at-home use, kids who sneak out of the house and don’t want to be tracked will
simply leave their trackers at home under their pillows.  Now, if we can only find a way to embed these devices in
their skulls….
