New Flights to Santa Rosa

This
is not going to mean much to the vast majority of you out there, but for me, whose grandmother-in-law lives in Santa
Rosa, this is a cool deal. Not to mention that Santa Rosa is nicely in proximity to wine country, which is cool. So
maybe there is something in this news for you. Well, the news is this:  Santa Rosa will
be serviced
by a new flight from Horizon Airlines for the first time since 2001.

Flights will arrive to
Sonoma
County Airport
with daily non-stops from Seattle and Los Angeles. They will begin on March 20, 2007, with the
arrival on the tarmac of a 74-seat Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft. This is being news for the locals. Sonoma County
Airport has not had scheduled commercial service for five years.  For those who don’t know, Santa Rosa is about an
hour north of San Francisco and is close to Sonoma and Napa. Obviously it is wine country and the success of films like
Sideways that prompted the need for this new service. But that’s cool with me.
