My most memorable travels always, without fail, have involved a special day or night where I met someone unexpected — a fellow traveler, a local, whoever — and ended up spending an extended amount of time talking, sharing experiences, and learning about each other’s cultures and backgrounds. Invariably however, I’ve always lost touch with these special people, and am left wondering how they are, and what they’re up to these days.
Well, now, thanks to Where Are You Now?, I may never have to wonder again. This ingenious site not only allows you to let people know where you are, but it allows you to make new friends based on where you’re going: the user search facility allows you to find people who are planning similar trips as you, so you can meet them, as well as narrow your search based on gender or nationality of you so desire. The site even allows you to keep a travel log once you’re on your way.
Ad the best part, of course, is that it’s free. Be sure to check it out for yourself.
