Here I was all agog over the fact that the folks at Cirque du Soleil were planning a series of artsy, circus shows dedicated to the life and music of Elvis Presley, and I learn today they’re doing the same thing with the music of the Beatles. The show, at the Mirage in Las Vegas, is called Love. Isn’t that sweet?
Let me just say for the record that to me the music of the Beatles is sacrosanct, so they better not screw it up by making the show some schmaltzy paean to the Fab Four. Although, the fact that it’s in Vegas suggests that’s exactly what is going to happen.
