We’ve posted a few times already about the dangerous one-two knock-out punch of stag parties and cheap airfare in Europe.
Here’s another article, this time from Rick Steves’ website, bemoaning the traveling circus of “Stag Tourism” where planes full of drunken Brits descend on cheap destinations in Eastern Europe for a weekend of debauchery and hedonism.
Airfare from London can be as cheap as the price of a few beers in a local pub if booked far enough in advance. And the cost of alcohol in places like Prague is laughable compared to the UK. Such party efficiencies spell doom for stag party destinations as easyJet and other budget airlines disgorge waves of inebriated barbarians who leave in their wake damaged hotel rooms, trashed bars, and puddles of vomit.
I’ve seen it and it’s not a pretty sight.
