Luminary Anniversaries

It’s a big year for anniversaries in Europe.

Cézanne celebrates 100 years of being dead.
Freud celebrates his 150th birthday.
Mantegna celebrates 500 years of being dead.
And Rembrandt celebrates his 400th birthday.

A handy little article in The Telegraph points those wishing to celebrate these anniversaries in the right direction. Freud fanatics, for example, can visit the “The Couch: Thinking in Repose” exhibit at the Freud Museum in Vienna (site of his former apartment). Or, if they happen to be in England, they can visit the Freud Museum in London where the psychoanalyst moved to in 1938.
