Here’s just one more item to add to your list of things to worry about when you go traveling this summer: jellyfish.
Thanks to global warming, jellyfish in the Mediterranean are multiplying faster than normal and endangering resort areas along the coast.
According to the BBC, jellyfish have stung more than 30,000 swimmers in the area the last two months. Swarms of the gelatinous monsters have closed beaches in Spain, Sicily and North Africa and word from the western front is that they are planning a land attack on Austria in the upcoming month.
Be alert while swimming, wear sandals on the beach, and don’t be stingy with the urine when someone gets stung.
