High End Hotel Beds

A few weeks ago I posted about The Best Hotels for Snoozing and lamented how the article failed to mention which hotels had the best beds. Well, the LA Times has stepped in to pick up the slack.

Competing for your Sack Time discusses the mattress itself and how certain hotels, such as the Westin have gone so far as to create their own top-notch bed: the Heavenly Bed.

The trend for high quality beds apparently began with the W Hotels and is now embraced by a number of high-end establishments as they compete with each other for your valuable snoozing dollars.

Here, in no particular order, are just a few of the descriptively named, custom beds popping in hotel chains around the world; the Serenity Bed, the Grand Bed, the Sleep System, Sweet Dreams, and the Sleep Number Bed.

There is no ranking on which are the best, but writer James Gilden gives a pretty good description of what to expect from each of the cleverly marketed names.
