Every single day we post a photo here from the Gadling Flickr pool to be our photo of the day. It’s actually a real joy for me, an amateur, but sometimes professional photographer, to go through these photos and find the best ones. The fact is, with the advent of digital cameras, shooting has become so easy that you can shoot a gazillion photos, from which there is bound to be one or two great ones. So the point is, there are tons of photographers out there now who are creating quality stuff, and many of these folks post them to Flickr so that they can be used by others.
So now, what if you have a site that is blue and you really want to find some photos with that same color of blue in it? You can weed through Flickr page by page to find one, but that would take a long time. But I just came across a site that is really amazing and that can save you a LOT of time.
The Flickr color selector allows you to click on a swatch of color and then it goes through Flickr and finds photos containing quantities of that color. I tried a bunch of different colors and the photos that came up were amazingly accurate. I am not quite sure how we’d use this site, but I thought it was just too darn cool not to mention. Check it out, you’ll be pretty amazed too.
