This is not really a travel-related post, except that many of the photos here are obviously from various places where spirals can be found. But I thought it was interesting visually and wanted to call your attention to the amazing series of images here of spirals in nature, society and architecture. From stairways, to plants to sea shells, the spiral is a form that can found most anywhere. I read a book a few years ago called the Golden Ratio where the mathematics of the spiral were dissected, and it was revealed that there are certain properties to the ratio that make it a very efficient mechanism for growth. Anyway, all that is to add some pretentious gobbledegook to a merely visually interesting series of photos.
